Birthstone & Anniversary Significance:
Amethyst is the modern birthstone for February and also commemorates the 6th wedding anniversary.
On the Moh’s scale, Amethyst has a hardness rating of 7, indicating its durability.
Belonging to the Quartz mineral family, Amethyst is known for its varying purple hues, from very pale to dark. The medium-dark to dark tones are especially desirable, often fetching higher prices. Most Amethysts are relatively free of inclusions.
Amethyst is sourced from around the world, with key locations including Brazil, Zambia, the U.S., Canada, India, Sri Lanka, and Madagascar.
Typically, Amethyst is not treated, allowing its natural beauty to shine through.
Amethyst jewelry can be safely cleaned in an Ultrasonic cleaner. However, the use of a steamer is not recommended. For optimal care, we suggest using ionic cleaners or a solution of warm, soapy water and a soft brush to clean your gemstone jewelry.
